Cool, I’ve got a blog. Wait…now what?

The second question I hear about blogs: What am I going to write about? (Usually, the first question I hear concerning blogs: Why do I need one of those? )
This post is about the topics for writing.
The great thing about fans is their connection with you as an artist. They’ve already drank the kool-aid, so to say. And, in-between listening to your music and visiting your website, they want to hear about what you are doing. Use your blog to tell them.
Here are some very common fan questions that I’ve accumulated from various musician sites:
When are you going to release another album/track/song?
When are you playing in my town?
When is your next tour?
What is the meaning behind ‘insert song title’?
Each of these questions makes for great blog content. Write a few paragraphs talking about these topics. The length of your writing doesn’t need to be long, but it does need to be coherent. Posting after a long night of partying might not be the best policy.
The rules? It needs to be about you and your art. It needs to be interesting for your fans. And it needs to be engaging.
